Glen Burnie Mom Wins $100K With Scratch-off Ticket
The 78-year-old Glen Burnie woman received the ticket from her son and neither could believe she netted the top prize.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — What started out as a thoughtful gesture from a son to his mother ended up with a Glen Burnie mom netting the largest Bingo X10 scratch ticket amount possible. The Anne Arundel County woman, who opted to remain anonymous, told Maryland Lottery that she has loved scratch-off games for years, but definitely loves them even more now.
Normally, the Glen Burnie woman spends $10 at a time buying a handful of $1 and $2 tickets. But her son told Maryland Lottery that he felt compelled to buy his mom this particular $10 ticket. When she scratched her ticket, she couldn't believe it. The 78-year-old woman made her son double-check the scratch-off to make sure she wasn't seeing things. When her son used the Maryland Lottery app to confirm the $100,000 win, they were in disbelief.
She told Maryland Lottery that she couldn't believe she had just won, she went outside and "mowed the grass." The first thing she plans to do with her winnings is to tackle two big remodeling projects.
