Make a Difference at Annapolis GreenScape, Quiet Waters Park, Helpers for the Homeless
Make A Difference Day is Oct. 25, and the Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County is recruiting volunteers.

Residents of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County will join millions of Americans to volunteer on Make A Difference Day, Saturday, Oct. 25.
Sponsored by USA WEEKEND Magazine in collaboration with Points of Light and Newman’s Own, the annual Make a Difference Day is the nation’s largest day of community service.
The Volunteer Center For Anne Arundel County is recruiting and referring volunteers for many volunteer activities taking place through October 31st this year. Assistance League of the Chesapeake

Assistance League of the Chesapeake® is conducting a Children’s Book Drive on Saturday, October 25th, 2014 in support of “Make a Difference Day”, the National Day of Service. The goal of Assistance League is to spread the love of reading to children throughout Anne Arundel County. Last year, over 1300 books were collected and distributed to schools, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Annapolis and other locations. Nationally, 94 chapters of Assistance League collected 113,000 books. City of Annapolis, Department of Recreation and Parks Saturday, October 25th - FALL GREENSCAPE The Annapolis Recreation and Parks Department invites community members to participate by volunteering for the City’s fall GreenScape project. Anne Arundel County Recreation & Parks and The Friends of Quiet Waters Park present: Bark’en Dash - This fun and furry event invites runners to bring along their four legged friend! Following the race is the 13th Annual Howl-O-Ween Bark’en Bash - Owners and Pets will enjoy contests, games, treats and music. Volunteers are needed at 7:30am - 10:30am to help with registration, course monitoring and puppy patrol, and at 10:30am – 3:00pmto help with games, contests and much more! Happy Helpers for the Homeless
Happy Helpers will have their 21st Annual Make a Difference Day event on Saturday, October 25th, 2014, 7:30am - 10:30am. A group of the people we serve will meet forbreakfast at the Glen Burnie Golden Corral. Afterwards, our clients will receive job search assistance, haircuts, clothing, and toiletry gift bags.
Saturday, October 25th, 2014, 5:00pm – 9:00pm: “Light the Night” Walk for Leukemia & Lymphoma. Happy Helpers raise pledges and walk in honor of Thomas Cleaver, III, Cindy Cox, and Mr. Joseph Nowalski. Participants will meet at Cromwell Light Rail Station in Glen Burnie at 5:00 pm.
