Man Hiding Under Porch Charged in String of Break-Ins

Anne Arundel County Police say the Glen Burnie man is charged with business burglaries in Glen Burnie, Linthicum and Brooklyn Park.

A Glen Burnie man faces multiple burglary charges for allegedly breaking into several restaurants and an upholstery business in Glen Burnie, Linthicum and Brooklyn Park, say police.

Steven Moore, 26, of 7233 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd. in Glen Burnie, has been charged with breaking into these businesses:

  • June 25: 7165 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, China King
  • June 25: 7167 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, Interior Upholstery
  • June 29: 5717 Ritchie Highway, Crab Depot
  • July 7: 5621 Belle Grove Road, Pizza City (as well as three theft from autos nearby)
  • July 8: 7167 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, Interior Upholstery
  • July 8: 7165 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard, China King

While investigating the burglary at Crab Depot, detectives found surveillance footage of the suspect inside the business. Days later, an officer spotted a similar subject walking in the same area. Anne Arundel County Police say he approached Moore and gathered his information.

Investigators found evidence that linked Moore to the burglaries to the China King and Interior Upholstery, as well as the Crap Depot break-in.

Officers on July 9 responded to an alarm at Primo Pizza, 827 Nursery Road, but nothing was taken. Shortly before 5 a.m., Moore pulled into the alley next to his residence, but fled on foot into the woods. Officers were unable to locate him at that time.

Later in the afternoon, officers in the area arrested Moore, who was seen lying underneath a porch.

Police say Moore was responsible for all these burglaries, a street robbery, as well as the theft from autos.

Detectives located property that directly links him to the robbery. Other stolen property was also found.

Moore was charged with the burglary to the Crab Depot as well as the robbery. He was also served on an outstanding arrest warrant for a burglary that occurred during the same timeframe in Eastern District.

He is being held on $100,000 bond for each of the three incidents. Charges are forthcoming for the additional five burglaries along with the theft from autos.
