“While we are thrilled to be introducing so many credit card options for our members, we are equally excited by the reason we are making these choices available – namely, because our members asked for them,” says SECU President and CEO Rod Staatz. “They let us know that one size doesn’t fit all, that they are at different points in their lives, and that they have vastly different needs.”

According to Staatz, SECU responded to its members’ requests for more choices and more flexibility by initially conducting research on the number of credit cards and monthly balances held by the average person, then by talking to their own members to determine what they wanted – and needed – in a credit card.

“In many ways, this entire process is representative of the way we do everything at SECU,” explains Staatz. “We recognize that Marylanders have choices when it comes to their banking, and we want to make certain SECU remains their top choice”.

Staatz continues, “It’s all part of SECU’s commitment to take banking in a different direction, and that different direction means always putting our members’ interests first by supporting both their needs and the needs of the communities SECU serves”.
