Festival activities will reconnect us to the folklore of ancient civilizations through science, art, music and myth by featuring local artists, musicians and performers from Maryland and other parts of the country. Come to be entertained by live music, drumming circles, and presentations on how to save water and money at home and at work.

A festival would not be the same without the participation of all family members young and old, which is why children’s arts and crafts activities will include drawing and writing about water. A contest will be held for the top artwork, and free admittances into the Greenbelt Aquatic & Fitness Center will be distributed to the winners while supplies last.

Other fun games will include a recycling scavenger hunt, making fairy gardens, learning from the Green Man and his praying Mantis, face painting, mosaic workshops, chalk art, dancing around the maypole, mask making, flag decorations, nature walks, examining water under a microscope, and even more!

Special guests will include Prince George’s County Department of the Environment, Prince George’s Audubon Society, City of Greenbelt Green Team / Green ACES, GCAN, Greenbelt’s Butterfly Brigade, Greenbelt Biota, Beaver Creek, Peace and Justice, Master Gardeners, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, AmeriCorps NCCC, Community Forklift, and Patuxent Research Refuge.
