Aberdeen Duplex Blaze Started In Living Room: Fire Marshal

The Susquehanna Hose Company responded to a fire in Aberdeen that investigators said caused $20,000 in damage.

ABERDEEN, MD — Officials said a house fire in Aberdeen resulted in $20,000 in damage over the weekend. The Susquehanna Hose Company was among the crews responding to the blaze.

The fire broke out in a duplex in the 400 block of Dorsey Street, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

Investigators said a passerby discovered the blaze at 8:36 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17.

The Aberdeen Fire Department was first at the scene, according to the Susquehanna Hose Company, which reported sending two engines.

When crews arrived, they said fire was showing in front of the two-story duplex.

About 25 firefighters responded and brought the blaze under control within 30 minutes, according to the fire marshal.

The fire started in the first-floor living room, investigators reported, but the cause of the fire remained under investigation as of Sunday night.

Nobody was injured, according to the fire marshal.
