Barn Fire In Port Deposit Draws Crews From 2 Counties

Firefighters from Harford and Cecil counties helped with the response to a barn fire in Port Deposit.

PORT DEPOSIT, MD — Multiple fire departments battled a barn fire in Cecil County Monday afternoon, according to officials. Crews from the Susquehanna Hose Company, Water Witch Volunteer Fire Company and Level Volunteer Fire Company were among those participating in the response.

Firefighters from Level came with a tanker after 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, once officials said the Water Witch Volunteer Fire Company found a well-involved barn fire.

The tanker was at the scene until about 3 p.m., according to Level officials, whose crews helped fill in at the Water Witch station 72 on Bill Amoss Way in Port Deposit during the response.

The Susquehanna Hose Company reported the barn on Anchor Hope Lane was "well-involved with exposure issues" when crews first arrived.
