Body Found in Elk River Was Missing Havre de Grace Woman: Police
Havre de Grace police said investigation is ongoing into death of Catherine Elizabeth Mace.

The body found in the Elk River earlier this week has been identified as the Havre de Grace woman reported missing in December.
Catherine Elizabeth Mace 43, was last seen at her home in the 900 block of Greenway Court at approximately 2 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 26, police said at the time of her disappearance.
Police confirmed Thursday, April 9, that a body found floating in the Elk River earlier this week was that of Mace.

Maryland Natural Resources Police found the body floating in the river Monday morning, police said.
A Havre de Grace Grace officer responded to Rogue’s Harbor, an area in Elk Neck State Park in Cecil County, where natural resources officials requested a detective investigate whether the body was related to any missing persons cases, the statement said.

The body had been brought ashore and due to the condition, officials were unable to make a positive identification, police reported.
The body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where a family member identified the body as that of Mace on Tuesday, April 7, according to the report.
An autopsy report showed there were no signs of trauma, police reported, and there were no signs of foul play.
Police said Thursday, April 9, that the investigation is ongoing pending the outcome of the toxicology report.
