A dog who had been inside the lower-level apartment where the fire broke out was treated for smoke inhalation with a pet oxygen mask and released to his owner, officials reported. Nobody else was injured, according to Hurst.

After 3 p.m., officials said they were cleaning up at the scene. Crews determined the fire had not extended beyond the area around the pot of burnt food where it had originated.
