Havre de Grace Halloween Parade Set for Thursday

Costumed characters will overtake North Washington Street near Congress Avenue.

It wouldn’t be Halloween without the Havre de Grace Halloween Parade.

Children and adults dressed in their Halloween finery will march across the stage on North Washington Street Thursday night during the Havre de Grace Halloween Parade, now in its 29th year.

Judges will weigh in and award 15 prizes for the best costumes. See results from last year’s Halloween parade here. The event sponsor, the Havre de Grace Recreation Committee, bills it as a “wallet friendly” affair—watching and participation are free.

Karen Green, who organizes the event, said that the parade will go on unless there is torrential rain or lightning. To check on the status, Green said people may call the Havre de Grace Activity Center office at 410-939-6724 until 4:30 p.m. or check the Havre de Grace Activity Center website.
