“Due to the forecast and taking in consideration the safety of our participants and those who visit to enjoy the Mardi Gras Parade, the city of Havre de Grace will be postponing the Mardi Gras parade until Friday, Feb. 20,” the Havre de Grace Office of Tourism reported Monday.
It’s not the first time in recent years that the city has postponed a celebration because of the elements. The 2014 Christmas parade was pushed back two days because of rain. In 2013 the Christmas parade was rained out. And in 2012 the annual Halloween parade was delayed until early November when Hurricane Sandy swept through town.
