Havre de Grace Waterfront Festival: Fireworks, Crab Feast, Art
The first Waterfront Festival will be held Aug. 24 and 25 in HdG, complete with fireworks, the unveiling of a sculpture and a crab feast.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The first Havre de Grace Waterfront Festival will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, and Sunday, Aug. 25 in Havre de Grace to celebrate the Susquehanna River at the city's waterfront parks with fireworks; seafood, including steamed crabs; live music and entertainers; food trucks; beer gardens; artisans and other vendors; a petting zoo and more.
The Festival starts at 3 p.m. Saturday with the unveiling of the new public art sculpture at Concord Point Park. Called "Big Fish, School of Fish," the stainless steel striped bass sculpture was created by artist Thomas Sterner, who has a studio in Westminster. The artwork is off the sidewalk leading to Concord Point Lighthouse next to the water.
The fireworks — which were postponed by storms in July — will begin at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. They will be set off from Concord Point Park and will be visible along the waterfront.

The festival overall is free, with tickets available for specific events such as the crab feast, crab soup cookoff, and Opera House movie. A main stage of live music features the Carlos Cubas Band and the Nicole Milano Band. The Decoy Museum will bring a demonstration of decoy carvers and retriever dogs. For the kids, there is a play area and moon bounce to enjoy, after they have tried the youth fishing derby and a visit with the Mermaids.
