Chesapeake Drive Fire Displaces Man, 2 Dogs: Fire Marshal
The Susquehanna Hose Company said smoke was showing from the home when crews arrived.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Authorities said a man and two dogs were displaced by a house fire on Chesapeake Drive Monday morning in Havre de Grace. The blaze began in the kitchen, the fire marshal determined.
Firefighters were called to the 1100 block of Chesapeake Drive when a passerby discovered the fire at 11:35 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, officials said.
When the Susquehanna Hose Company arrived, crews found smoke showing from the back of a single-family home. Nobody was located inside, according to the hose company.

Firefighters contained the blaze to the kitchen, while there was soot and extensive smoke damage in the rest of the home, according to the fire marshal.
There was $65,000 in structural damage, while $10,000 worth of items had also been lost, the fire marshal said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
