Lightning Damages Port Deposit Home: Fire Marshal
The lightning strike caused $25,000 in damage Monday, officials reported.

A lightning strike in Cecil County caused thousands in damage to a Port Deposit home, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
Lightning hit a roof in the unit block of Chads Way at approximately 1:30 a.m. Monday, the fire marshal reported.

The homeowner discovered the incident, although the smoke alarm did not go off, according to the report.
Approximately 20 firefighters from Water Witch, North East and Rising Sun responded, bringing the situation under control within 10 minutes, the report said.

The two-story, single-family wood home sustained $25,000 in structural damage, according to the fire marshal.
