Port Deposit Teen Charged in Flag Burning
Fire marshal says suspect is charged in another arson in the area.

An 18-year-old from Port Deposit has confessed to burning an American flag on Main Street, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
At 1:35 a.m. on July 6, two Water Witch firefighters saw the flag burning outside a home in the unit block of North Main Street and quickly extinguished the blaze, according to the fire marshal.
The homeowner called 911, and investigators determined the fire caused $200 in damage from scorching the property, the fire marshal reported.

In connection with the flag burning, Alexis Lee Delvis, of the unit block of Lagoon Drive, is charged with first-degree arson, second-degree malicious burning, malicious destruction of property and reckless endangerment, online court records show.
According to the fire marshal, while he was being interviewed about an ATV arson that occurred July 2, Delvis told investigators that he set the flag on fire. Delvis is also facing charges in that case, in which he is accused of burning a four-wheeler in field on Burlin Road.

Delvis has a hearing in Cecil County District Court on Aug. 14 in connection with the flag burning.
He is currently being held on a $30,000 bond for the ATV incident and received an additional $35,000 bond for the incident involving the house and flag, the fire marshal reported.
