Two Water Rescue Calls For Susquehanna Hose Company This Week
The Susquehanna Hose Company has handled two water rescues this week, the latest of which was Thursday night off Swan Creek.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The Susquehanna Hose Company was called to a water rescue Thursday night, assisting a man who had symptoms of hypothermia. The victim had gotten stuck in mud off Swan Creek, the hose company reported.
The call came in at 11 p.m. on Thursday. Dispatchers said the man had been trapped for eight hours in the area of Country Club Road at Creek Road.
After figuring out his location, the hose company sent its fire boat to Maid's Island. The crew quickly arrived and packaged him so that he could be taken to paramedics waiting onshore.

Before 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, the hose company assisted those aboard a 20-foot boat that had hit something and was taking on water in the Susquehanna River near Perry Point.
Six passengers were taken to shore, and all declined medical care, according to the Susquehanna Hose Company, which was called to the incident along with the Perry Point Fire Department, Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps, Maryland Department of Natural Resources and Water Witch Volunteer Fire Company.
"Despite the positive outcome," the Susquehanna Hose Company said in a statement after that incident, "this is a reminder that operating a boat at night is extremely dangerous and should be avoided at all costs."
