Tydings Park Becoming More Handicap Accessible

Construction work underway near Tydings Park will make the space more accessible to all.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The city of Havre de Grace is building a new component at Tydings Park that will make it more enjoyable for all. This week public works crews began installing a handicap ramp.

The ramp will connect the City Yacht Basin parking lot to Tydings Park, according to a statement from the city. Work is expected to be complete by the end of November, the statement said.

Installation of the ramp comes at the recommendation of the Tydings Memorial Park Commission, which identified ways to improve the park and ensure its maximum potential is realized. In its final report, the commission said that a ramp would serve as a connection among the various waterfront features in the area, including the Promenade, yacht basin and park.
