A past chair of the family law committee of the Bar Association of Baltimore City (BABC) and a frequent contributor to local family law publications, she regularly acts as a volunteer settlement facilitator for the Circuit Court for Baltimore City’s Family Law Division.

“Carol Cooper has acquired a breadth of experience and knowledge in family law matters and established herself as a leader in the field, all of which makes her a perfect candidate for membership,” said ARD&H Managing Member Oren D. “This is a great time for me to become a member of ARD&H, and I look forward to continuing to grow my practice, while also helping to bring this well-respected, veteran law firm into the future,” said Cooper, who has more time to devote to the Firm, now that her children are away in college.

Having completed comprehensive training in both basic mediation and interdisciplinary collaborative practice, she is expanding her practice beyond litigation to include mediation and collaborative law. After seeing firsthand the emotional and financial impact of litigating family cases, Cooper believes “family law matters should be resolved outside of the courtroom, whenever possible.”

Outside of the Firm, Cooper serves on the Maryland State Bar Association’s Lawyer Assistance Program committee and the fundraising committee for the Tuerk House, Inc., a non-profit that helps Baltimore-area individuals, families and communities struggling with addiction. She also is a member of the Women’s Bar Association of Maryland, the Baltimore County Bar Association and the BABC.

The Cockeysville wife and mother of two earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Union College, and a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Maryland School of Law, where she was inducted into the Order of the Coif
