
Junior Achievement of Central Maryland has appointed David Garbarino to a three-year term on its board of directors.
With over 13 years in the finance industry, Garbarino serves as the Baltimore area executive and senior vice president of BB&T. As the senior banking officer and market leader, he is responsible for coordination and advancement of the bank within the community.
He also oversees the management and optimization of all commercial banking functions, including but not limited to the administration of all business loan portfolios, commercial deposit acquisitions, the development of additional business clients, the delivery of non-credit services to the commercial market, and the integration of the retail/commercials lines of business.

Active in the community, Garbarino supports several non-profit organizations including the Kennedy Krieger Institute, the House of Ruth, Independent College Fund of Maryland, the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and Baltimore Area Council – Boy Scouts of America.
Garbarino earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Elon University and currently is enrolled in the banking, finance and leadership program at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School. He resides in Sparks with his wife, Kristie, and their three children.

Junior Achievement of Central Maryland is dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy.
