Arrest Made in Exxon Armed Robbery
A man fitting the alleged robber's description is also suspected of a carjacking at a nearby church.

County police have arrested and charged David Lee Carmichael, 50, with the armed robbery of a Parkton gas station last week.
Carmichael is accused of robbing the Exxon gas station, located in the in the 300-block on Mount Carmel Road, shortly before 3:30 p.m. on May 21.
An employee at the station told officers a man entered the store and threatened him with a small handgun. The robber ordered the employee to put the cash drawer and Newport cigarettes into a large trash bag. After forcing the employee into a restroom, the robber fled the scene, according to the release.

Carmichael's vehicle, a gray Toyota 4-Runner, overturned at a tree farm in the 1200-block of Mount Carmel Road, according to police.
About seven hours after the robbery at the gas station, police responded to a carjacking at Cedargrove United Methodist in the 2000-block of Mount Carmel Road.

The victim, who works as a custodian at the church, said a man fitting Carmichael’s description took his 2001 Ford F-150 truck, according to police.
The truck was later recovered, a few miles from the church.
Police arrested Carmichael on May 25 in the 800-block of Marcy Ave. in the Oxen Hill area of Prince George’s County, according to the release.
Carmichael has not been charged in connection to the carjacking of the church employee.
