Driver Not Facing Charges for Showroom Crash

A medical issue may have led to the accident.

A woman who crashed her car into the showroom of a Hunt Valley business will not face charges for the incident, police said.

Investigators determined that the woman suffered from a medical issue that may have contributed to the accident, said Cathy Batton, a police spokeswoman.

Police would not identify the woman or her condition, citing federal health privacy regulations.

On Sunday, the woman, traveling from a Shell gas station across the street, drove her van into the John Deere showroom owned by Finch Services, in the 11000 block of York Road.

Brad Finch, an owner of Finch Services, said the damage included a destroyed hearth and display shelf, shattered windows and broken outdoor power equipment.

But Finch said he is more concerned about the woman’s condition.

“Buildings can be replaced but we’re more interested in her well-being,” he said.

Finch said he was grateful for the support of his staff throughout the ordeal.

“We’re extremely thankful for the employees who stopped in to help us clean up right after the accident," he said.
