GET OUT: Enjoy a Free Concert at the Towne Centre

A guide for planning the weekend ahead.

Where/When: Fire Museum of Maryland, July 9, noon to 4 p.m.

Why Go: This annual show will feature more than 60 antique cars and 40 antique fire engines. Bring your own classic car, pre-1984, for free admission.

2. Pirate Gala

Where/When: The Lock House Museum, July 9, 7 pm to 11 pm.

Why Go: Dress up like a pirate and enjoy roasted suckling pig, beer and wine, auctions and music. Proceeds benefit the museum.

3. Summer Concert Series

Where/When: Hunt Valley Towne Centre, July 8, 7:30 pm to 9 pm.

Why Go: Jam to music from Higher Hands, a hip-hop, soul and funk fusion band, while you shop.

 4. Jousting in July

Where/When: Hampton National Historic Site, July 10, 12:30 pm to 4 pm. 

Why Go: Come see the Maryland state sport in action as jousters show off their skills by catching small hoops and racing across the mansion lawn.

5. Baltimore County 4-H Fair

Where/When: Maryland State Fairgrounds, July 7-10.

Why Go: This four-day fair features livestock and cake auctions, a fashion revue and a picnic supper.
