Where/When: Grand Chapiteau at Westport Waterfront,  April 9, 4 and 8 p.m.; April 10, 1 and 5 p.m. 

Why Go: Using visual and acrobatic language, performers trace the evolution of mankind from its amphibian state to its desire to fly. The action takes place on a stage resembling a giant turtle.

2. Baltimore City Farmer's Market 

Where/When: Under the I-83 viaduct at Holiday and Saratoga Streets, April 10, 7 a.m.-12 p.m. 

Why Go: Pick up some early spring vegetables, quail eggs  and chickens. Some food vendors will also allow you to sample their goodies. Also featured are wood-fired pizzas, pit beef and omelets. 

Pricing: Free

 

3.  Elkridge-Harford Hunt Point to Point

Where/When: Atlanta Hall Farm, April 9, 12 p.m.

Why Go: Steeplechase season continues with a point-to-point in Monkton.

Pricing: $50 to $200; $1,500 for sponsors

 

4.  Charm City Chews 

Where/When: Little Italy, April 8-9, 1- 3:30 p.m.

Why Go: Experience an off beat food tour of Baltimore's Little Italy. A recent tour tasted gorgonzola gnocchi at La Tavola, filet mignon sliders at Mustang Alley's Bar, Bowling, and Bistro and mini cannoli at Piedigrotti Bakery.

Pricing:  $55 per person; $5 discount for groups of six or more

 

5.  Baltimore Symphony Orchestra: Tribute to Paul McCartney

Where/When: The Meyerhoff, April 8-9, 8 p.m.; April 10, 3 p.m.

Why Go: Tony Kishman, regarded as one of the best McCartney look-alike/sound-alike performers, delivers a live performance of McCartney's most popular songs backed by the BSO.
