Greystone to Become Upscale, Affordable Eatery
Restaurant's name will be changed to "Barrett's."

Greystone Grill's new owners John Barrett and Michael Sipes hope to transform the fine dining establishment in the Hunt Valley Towne Centre into a more affordable option, while maintaining high-quality standards.
โWith the economy being tough, people are hurting right now,โ Barrett said. โWe have to get the restaurant to be more affordable. We want people to eat here on a day-to-day occasion instead of just a special occasion.โ
Right now, Barrett and Sipes, who purchased the restaurant in February, are in the development phase. They are tinkering with the menu, planning promotional deals, revamping the building and ordering signage for the restaurantโs new nameโBarrettโs.

โTo be successful, we have to get traffic from the movie theater (neighboring Regal Cinemas),โ Barrett said. โWeโll have smaller plates, smaller prices. We want to get the value back into the menu.โ
And how will the food stack up?

โIn the past, Greystone was more of a steakhouse,โ Barrett said. โBarrettโs will have more of an all-American feelโsteak, seafood, pasta.โ
But Barrett and Sipes still hope to retain Greystoneโs clientele.
โWe know there is a loyal following at Greystone and we want to continue honoring those people,โ Barrett said. โWe will continue to have some Greystone favorites.โ
