Hunt Valley Shooting: Suspect Charged With Attempted Murder

Police said the suspect in a shooting in Hunt Valley Saturday has been charged.

HUNT VALLEY, MD — A Baltimore man has been charged in the shooting of another man in Hunt Valley over the weekend. Police said the two got into a dispute in a parking lot at the corner of Shawan and McCormick roads Saturday when the suspect allegedly shot the victim once in the upper body and left.

Richard Lewis Motes Jr., 52, of the 3500 block of Frankford Avenue, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and use of a firearm in a felony crime.

Motes was released from the Baltimore County Detention Center on $25,000 bail on Wednesday, court records show. He is slated to appear for a preliminary hearing in Baltimore County District Court on Dec. 15.
