Legacy Chase to Award More Than $75,000 in Purse Money
The 11th annual steeplechase event will benefit Greater Baltimore Medical Center.
The 11th annual Legacy Chase, the signature event at Shawan Downs, will award more than $75,000 in purse money to winners of multiple steeplechase races.
The Sept. 24 event, which will benefit Greater Baltimore Medical Center, is scheduled to post its first race at 1 p.m. but gates will open at 10 a.m. Opening ceremonies are set to begin at noon.
Tickets run from $30 for general parking and admission to $1,500 for a premium finish line box. A full list of prices can be found here.

Along with the steeplechase races, guests can enjoy a petting zoo, tailgate competition, stick pony race and more. They can also enter a raffle, for $10 a ticket, to win a two-year lease on a 2010 Volkswagon Passat 2.5LS.
