NWS: Flash Flood Warning for Cockeysville
More than an inch of rain fell in the area on Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Cockeysville.
At around 11 a.m., more than an inch of rain fell in a short time in a line east of Parkton to the Cockeysville area, according to the National Weather Service Doppler Radar. Although the rain band headed northward toward Pennsylvania, the warning states that creeks and streams may rapidly rise as a result of the rainfall, and additional rain later in the day could prolong or worsen any flooding. Highways, streets, underpasses, drainage areas and low-lying areas are at risk.
The website also notes that most flood-related deaths occur in automobiles, and warns motorists to steer clear of roadways covered in water.
