Rodgers Farm Corn Maze Celebrates 10th Anniversary

A visit to the farm is a popular Baltimore County tradition.

The start of fall marks many traditions—the first day of school photographs, new soccer cleats and gigantic leaf piles.

For many Baltimore area families, a visit to the Rodgers Farm, formerly known as North Run, is a highlight of their fall calendar.

This Sunday, the Rodgers Farm will celebrate its 10th season. In commemoration of the anniversary, it will unveil a 10-acre crab-themed maze reminiscent of their first corn maze.

Covering 10 acres, the maze outlines two crabs, a larger and smaller one. Within the larger maze, visitors can check into stations as they navigate the trails, as well as play a farm scene investigation game.  The smaller maze, well suited for younger children, offers a farm tracks game where participants are encouraged to find different animal prints throughout the maze that they record with crayon rubbings.

In the past, maze shapes have included a T-Rex and the Statue of Liberty.

Managers Brooke and Packer Rodgers, both Baltimore natives, opened the Rodgers Farm Corn Maze in 2002 on Greenspring Valley Road in Stevenson. Since then, families from Maryland and nearby Pennsylvania and Delaware have come to the family-owned farm to enjoy its many seasonal features.

While renowned for its corn maze, Rodgers Farm also offers hayrides, pumpkin picking, a farm animal zoo, play area, food, refreshments and local produce. The recent addition of the Friday night 'Flashlight Maze' has been a huge hit among older children and young adults.

Brooke Rodgers oversees the day-to-day operation of the maze, in addition to coordinating events and parties for the season.

“We have been so grateful at how supportive the community has been of our growing farm business for the past ten years," she said. "It gives us great pleasure to see families enjoying their time outside together at the farm each year.”
