Thoroughbred Placement Resources,
Inc. has announced it is partnering with AIS to create the Thoroughly Thoroughbred Dressage Show, open to all Thoroughbreds
with a foal certification or Jockey Club registration. The event will feature retrained,
Off-the-Track-Thoroughbred horses competing and demonstrating dressage skills.
“We
use what the horse already knows and build on those skills to provide a very
solid foundation for whatever disciplines the owner seeks,” said Kimberly
Clark, the founder of TPR, a non profit organization which retrains and
transitions retired Thoroughbreds into new careers and homes. Since 2007, TPR has successfully
retrained and placed over 800 horses.
“This
event will help people to see that a retired racehorse is very trainable,” said
Clark.
