Dog Attacks 2 Children Causing Minor Injuries: Hyattsville Police (patch.com) — Hyattsville police say two 9-year-old children suffered minor injuries Friday when a Cane Corso–pit bull mix being walked by another child bit one girl and scratched another on Nicholson Street. Medics treated the injured child on scene, and the dog has been quarantined at home while the family seeks additional medical care.
   

2. Domestic violence support group in urgent need of new space in Prince George's County (wusa9.com) — A Hyattsville-based nonprofit that furnishes homes for survivors of domestic violence and homelessness must find a new West Hyattsville storage space by the end of the month or pause operations and liquidate remaining donations. The group, Welcome Home, Neighbor, relies on local volunteers and neighbors' furniture donations to help families restart after trauma, and is urgently seeking donated warehouse, storefront, or large garage space to stay in the community.
   

3. 'Put Me In': Basketball Standout Daniyah Ford, 17, Gunned Down In DC (newsbreak.com) — A 17-year-old girl from Hyattsville who played basketball for Coolidge High School was fatally shot Saturday evening on New Hampshire Avenue NW in DC, leaving another victim wounded. Friends, coaches, and the DC Lady Colts remember her as a tough, energetic teammate, while a GoFundMe seeks help for her Hyattsville family's funeral and living expenses as police continue searching for the shooter.
   

4. Why the Chitlin' Circuit Stopped in North Brentwood (hyattsvillewire.com) — North Brentwood's historic Sis' Tavern, once a key stop on the Chitlin' Circuit, has been restored with help from the Hyattsville Community Development Corporation and grant funding. The former juke joint that hosted legends like Duke Ellington is now available for private event rentals, keeping local Black cultural history alive while offering a unique nearby gathering space.
