AEHS Graduate Wins Visual Arts Award
Daniel Toretsky is the winner of the 2011 Ida F. Haimovicz Visual Arts Award.

2011 graduate Daniel Toretsky has won the Ida F. Haimovicz Visual Arts Award, which includes a cash prize and art exhibit.
Toretsky is the winner of $3,000 and a solo art exhibit at the Betty Mae Kramer Gallery and Music Room located in the .
The award was established 14 years ago by the family of Ida F. Haimovicz to support a Montgomery County high school senior who plans on pursuing a career in visual arts. Haimovicz began sculpting as a hobby at the age of 64, and realized she should have started earlier in life, according to the award's website. Therefore, she wanted to provide financial assistance to young artists so that they would be able to pursue a career and explore their creativity. The award is administered by the Arts and Humanities Council of Mongtomery County.

This year's winner, Toretsky, will display his artwork at the Betty Mae Kramer Gallery from June 6 through July 1, with an opening reception on Tuesday, June 7, form 5 to 6:30 p.m. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
