• 11 25th anniversary ceremonies in the DMV area (2026) (washingtonparent.com) — Kensington will host a candlelit 9/11 25th-anniversary remembrance service at 7 p.m. on Sept. 11 at the Kensington Volunteer Fire Department's memorial, which includes artifacts from the World Trade Center and Pentagon. The roundup also lists free or low-cost ceremonies and runs across Rockville, Fairfax, Alexandria, DC, and other nearby communities for those wishing to honor the day.
   

• New MARC Service to Provide Direct Montgomery County-Baltimore Connection (wfmd.com) — Kensington commuters will soon get a direct weekday MARC connection to Baltimore, eliminating the need to transfer at Union Station and significantly cutting travel times. Starting September 28, one morning train and one evening return will link Kensington with communities from Brunswick to Baltimore Camden Station, with adjusted schedules across the Brunswick and Camden lines.
