Area boys' and girls' basketball teams eye second half of season.

Walter Johnson coach Bill Morris watched his team win two games last week, including a .
The best sign for the Wildcats: the improvement of their bench, a major factor in the team's win against the Barons.
"As a team, collectively, we have to win and that's what our starters tonight really weren't doing that well," Morris said on Wednesday. "But it was our other guys who came in and really solidified the game, sort of calmed us down and started making some baskets and bringing us back."
The Walter Johnson boys will host Wootton at 7 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcat girls will host the Patriots at 5:15 p.m.
Georgetown Prep hosts major track meet
Legendary track coach Frank Gagliano returned to the area over the weekend for the , held at Georgetown Prep.
It was Georgetown University's first home track meet in more than a decade, since the school doesn't have its own on-campus track and field complex.
Gagliano coached the Hoyas until the late 1990's.

One of the biggest local basketball rivalries resumes this week when Landon travels to Georgetown Prep on Saturday for a 7 p.m. tip.
The Einstein boys basketball team travels to Quince Orchard on Friday for a 7 p.m. game. The Titan girls will host the Cougars, also at 7 p.m.
