Teachers' 'Smash Space' Draws Apology From Kensington Principal
The principal said she thought that a "smash space" where teachers could break things with a baseball bat would give staff a way to decompress on campus. "This was a lapse in judgment,” she wrote in a letter to parents after criticism and the announcement that the school system would be conducting an investigation.
Jessup Fugitive Tried To Kill Police: Officials
An inmate escaped on the way to the state mental hospital for the criminally insane Friday morning. David M. Watson, 28, was being taken to Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center in Jessup from the Wicomico County Detention Center when he escaped and fled to a wooded area, police said. Watson had been serving a 106-year sentence in connection with the attempted murder of law enforcement officers, authorities said.
