After winning six of their last eight games, The boys soccer team has been rewarded with the fourth seed in the 3A West bracket of the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association playoffs.
The Titans will open the tournament at home Friday with a rematch against 13th-seeded Seneca Valley. Einstein topped the Screaming Eagles 5-2 at home earlier this month.
After only winning only four games last year, coach Adrian Baez says this season turned around with a dramatic come-from-behind victory on the road against Watkins Mill. That contest began a four-game winning streak and a seven-game stretch during which the Titans outscored their opponents 21-11.

“They guys were ecstatic, very happy," Baez said. "Which flowed on into the other games.”
Baez credits junior goalkeeper Jhon Quinto for providing the stability the team needed in net as the Titans grew into a winning squad this season.

Sophomore defender Karl Brown has also stood out for Einstein, as have junior Marcos Moradel and senior Cesar Romero.
In other playoff news, the boys team was recognized for its regular season dominance by being named the top seed in the 4A West bracket. The Wildcats received a first-round bye, and will host the winner of Thursday’s matchup between Richard Montgomery and Quince Orchard on Tuesday.
was named the 11th seed in the boys 4A West bracket. They will open the tournament on the road against sixth-seeded Churchill on Thursday.
In the girls MPSSAA tournament, Bethesda-Chevy Chase will enter the playoffs in search of their fourth consecutive state championship.
After losing last year's stars Alex Doll and Vic Gersh to graduation, the Barons made a strong showing this season and earned the third seed in the 4A West bracket. After a first-round bye, they will play either Clarksburg or Richard Montgomery at home on Tuesday.
Walter Johnson was given the fifth seed in the girls 4A West bracket, and will host Magruder on Friday. The Wildcats topped the Colonels 5-0 earlier in the season.
Coach Joan Rackey's Einstein girls squad was named the eighth seed in the 3A West bracket. They will host ninth-seeded North Hagerstown on Friday.
The finals of both the girls and boys tournaments will be held over November 17-19 at the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
