Temple Emanuel's Brotherhood Brunch with Guest Speaker Liane Lunden

The Temple Emanuel Brotherhood invites you to attend a presentation on the book, The Nazis Next Door, by local reviewer Liane Lunden. The book reveals that the OSS (precursor of the CIA) employed Germans to be spies in Europe and America after World War II. The author, Eric Lichtblau, is an investigative reporter for the New York Times.
Liane Lunden, has been presenting book reviews to Hadassah groups in the Greater Washington area for over 40 years. Her interest in literature stems from her studies at Queens College in New York, where she majored in English literature, and her focus on history comes from twenty years as a docent at the National Portrait Gallery. Liane was born in Vienna, Austria, and her family was fortunate to emigrate to the United States just five months Hitler’s takeover of Austria in 1938. In addition to her work at the National Portrait Gallery, Liane also gives tours at the Library of Congress and at the National Building Museum.
As always, there will be bagels, lox, and whitefish salad. Fee is $5/members; $7/nonmembers.
