Police to Stop Drivers at Sobriety Checkpoint Nov. 21

Laurel Police will set up a checkpoint Friday evening, Nov. 21.

Consider yourself warned: If you go out for drinks Nov. 21 in the Laurel area, line up a sober driver to get you safely home, or risk jail time.

The Laurel Police Department will conduct a DUI checkpoint from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 21. The checkpoint will be set on on northbound Route 1 at Main Street, the city says.

The law requires departments to announce the checkpoints in advance.
