Waterslide Mystery + Mass Vaccination Site Closes + Fatal Crash
Find out everything going down in town with the Laurel Daily.

Hello, neighbors! It's me again, Alexis Goring, your host of the Laurel Daily.
First, today's weather: Humid and partly cloudy throughout the day. High: 93 Low: 74.
Here are the top three stories in Laurel today:
1. With the announcement that 70% of adults in Prince George's County are at least partially vaccinated against COVID-19, the state mass vaccination site at Six Flags America in Bowie closed July 10. Earlier this year, more than a dozen mass vaccination locations helped people in Maryland get inoculated but only three will remain as of Saturday. (WTOP)
2. Two crashes, one fatal, in virtually the same stretch of road in Prince George's County near the D.C.-Maryland border interrupted traffic for hours throughout Friday afternoon. Two crashes happened on westbound Route 50, between Kenilworth Avenue and South Dakota Avenue. The second crash happened just five minutes after the investigation for the prior deadly crash had been completed. (WTOP)
3. Police in Prince George's County, want to know who stole a really big inflatable waterslide. The red, blue and yellow inflatable slide disappeared June 30 from a home in Clinton. The Mid-Atlantic chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation had just given it to 7-year-old Jacob, who has sickle cell disease. Anyone with information about the stolen slide is asked to call police at 301-749-5064. (WTOP)
