MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, MD — Police have released a composite sketch of a man they believe chased and raped a woman after she got off a bus in Montgomery Village.

According to authorities, the incident happened in the 19300 block of Watkins Mill Rd. around 10:15 p.m. on April 20. Shortly after the victim got off a Ride On bus, she noticed a man following her.

When she ran, he knocked her to the ground, pulled her to a grassy area, and sexually assaulted her, police said. The woman managed to escape and return home. She then went to a local hospital, where authorities were notified of the incident.

Little is known about the male suspect at this time. However, police have released a composite sketch of the suspect in hopes that the public can help identify him.

Detectives describe the suspect as a six-foot tall, white male in his late 20s. He is believed to have brown hair and weigh approximately 180 pounds. Police also say he has a tattoo behind his left ear and was last seen wearing a sweatshirt and jeans.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400. Anonymous tipsters can call the county's Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest or indictment.
