• Yamada's replacement to be appointed by next county executive, Elrich says (bethesdamagazine.com) — Montgomery Village residents will see their neighbor, Republican Esther Wells, on the November ballot for county executive, facing Democrat Will Jawando, who will choose the next permanent county police chief. After Chief Marc Yamada's resignation, an acting chief and several acting assistant chiefs are in place until the new executive and council complete a full leadership reshuffle.
