📰 News we're reading

• 1.9M Maryland Water Customers Got Good News, But Don't Turn The Taps Back On Yet (UPDATED) (dailyvoice.com) — Montgomery Village residents are still being asked to use only essential water, even though WSSC's Potomac Water Filtration Plant is back online after Tuesday's power outage. The plant, which supplies most customers in Montgomery and Prince George's counties, is running on a temporary electrical setup while repairs continue, so conservation remains crucial to protect storage levels and avoid stricter measures.

• Governor Moore Announces Historic Funding to Fight Child Poverty Through the ENOUGH Initiative (maryland.gov) — Montgomery Village is directly included in Governor Wes Moore's newly announced $32 million ENOUGH Initiative grants, with local organizations named as part of the program's expansion to high-poverty communities. The initiative steers state and philanthropic dollars toward community-led efforts like food access, health care, and economic mobility, meaning more resources and support could flow into Montgomery Village neighborhoods over the coming year.
