Baltimore Circuit Court Still Closed, to Reopen Monday
After fire at Baltimore City Clarence M. Mitchell Jr. Courthouse, crews are working to get building up and running quickly.

BALTIMORE, MD – The Clarence M. Mitchell Jr. Courthouse in Baltimore will be closed until Monday, May 9, judicial officials report.
The circuit court building at 100 North Calvert Street closed as of Wednesday, April 27, after a fire broke out inside the night before; the blaze was traced to utilities.

As workers clean up from the electrical fire that broke out in the basement Tuesday, April 26, people going inside have had to be escorted in protective gear, and many cases have been postponed, WBAL reported.
Jurors who are part of ongoing trials are being given instructions by their respective judges, while judicial officials say those slated to report for jury duty between May 2 and May 6 should report to the War Memorial Building, 101 North Gay Street.

Weddings and licensure have been taking place across the street at Courthouse East, 111 North Calvert Street.
