'Heating Issues in Many Buildings' Lead to Baltimore City Schools Decision

Baltimore City Public Schools will be closed on Friday.

Here is the official statement from the school system:

Due to extreme cold and resulting heating issues in many buildings, ALL SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED on Friday, February 20. District office will open on the regular schedule.

The closure follows Monday’s closure due to Presidents Day; Tuesday’s closure for professional development, an event which was canceled; and Wednesday’s two-hour delay and closure of two schools.

Baltimore City was under a wind chill advisory Friday until noon.
