President Obama Makes Brief Stop in Baltimore
The President stopped by an Inner Harbor hotel to rally Democrats.

BALTIMORE, MD – President Barack Obama delivered brief remarks at a Democratic conference in downtown Baltimore Thursday night.
Speaking at the House Democratic Issues Conference, an event to unite party leaders ahead of the November election, the President assured his fellow Democrats that he was confident someone in their party would succeed him. He touted progress in the fight against ISIS and declines in unemployment rates as wins for the party, addressing a crowd at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore Inner Harbor.

Before Obama arrived in Charm City, traffic was held at the Fort McHenry Tunnel in both directions from 6:07 p.m. to 6:29 p.m., according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.
Obama was in the Port Covington area before 6:15 p.m. and at the Hyatt by 6:25 p.m., The Baltimore Sun reported.

He was expected to return to the White House by 9:15 p.m., according to his schedule.
At 8:50 p.m., transportation officials advised that traffic was again being held at the Fort McHenry Tunnel, and by 9:08 a.m. traffic had been released.

Heavy Volumes Of Traffic Expected In Baltimore City On Thursday
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that heavy traffic volumes are expected in Baltimore City on Thursday, January 28, 2016.
Motorists who will be traveling in Baltimore on Thursday, especially in the downtown area, are encouraged to plan ahead and allow additional travel time. Heavy volumes of traffic are expected in the city throughout the day and traffic congestion is anticipated. Conditions will be unpredictable, so citizens should consider commuting earlier or delaying their commutes in order to avoid major delays.
Commuters are strongly encouraged to use alternative modes of transportation, such as MTA buses, Light Rail, the Metro Subway System or the Charm City Circulator to access the downtown area. Transportation Enforcement Officers will be deployed to help facilitate the movement of traffic.
