Suspected York Road Killer in Custody: Baltimore Police

Police said the man wanted in a gas station murder in north Baltimore has been arrested.

BALTIMORE, MD — The suspect in the deadly York Road gas station shooting has been arrested, according to police. Devon Brown, whose last known address was in the 700 block of Winston Avenue, was taken into custody Wednesday morning, police said.

Brown was wanted in connection with the murder of 21-year-old Deontay McKnight, who was shot while pumping gas in the 5100 block of York Road before 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 14.

Investigators said someone approached McKnight and shot several times, at which point he produced a handgun and returned fire. Officials allege the murder followed a drug deal, which was captured on video.

Authorities responding to a reported shooting found McKnight with gunshot wounds to the torso. He was taken to an area hospital, where officials said he was later pronounced deceased.
