Crime Summary: July 25 to Aug. 3

The following is a crime summary from the dates of July 25 to Aug. 3.

A1 Beat:

  • An assault occurred at SAIC, 12530 Parklawn Drive, Rockville on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 9:45 a.m. The suspect was threatened with a weapon.

  • A strong-arm robbery happened on the 500 block of Crabbs Branch Way, Derwood on Monday, Aug. 1 at 8:45 p.m.  The victim was assaulted and property was taken. The suspects were said to be a white male and two black males, 20-25 years of age.
  • A weapons offense occurred at Crabb Avenue and Longwood Drive, Rockville on Monday, Aug. 1 at midnight.  Gun shots were heard and the suspects fled. The suspects were three Hispanic males.

B2 Beat:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 10600 block of Maplecrest Lane, Potomac on Tuesday, Aug. 2 between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.  It was a forced entry and property was taken.

  • A sexual assault occurred in the 12300 block of Sour Cherry Way, North Potomac on Monday, Aug. 1 at 3:22 p.m. The suspect is known to the victim.

K2 Beat:

  • Five thefts from vehicles occurred overnight Monday, July 25 to Tuesday, July 26. One occurred on the 4900 block of Butternut Drive and on Butternut Court. Two more occurred on the 4500 and 4600 blocks of Dabney Drive, and the last theft was on the 14700 block of Janice Drive.  All the vehicles were unlocked. The items stolen were a handgun and holster, a flashlight, a satellite radio, money, and a GPS.

P2 Beat:

  • A commercial burglary occurred at Diamond Veterinary Hospital at 17000 Long Draft Road in Gaithersburg between Saturday, July 30 and Monday Aug. 1. The suspects forced their way into the clinic and stole medication.

S2 Beat:

  • A vehicular theft occurred in the 18300 block of Streamside Drive in Gaithersburg between Wednesday, July 27 and Thursday, July 28.  A 2006 Suzuki Colt was taken.
