• With auto thefts on the rise, five license plate readers are vandalized in MoCo (bethesdamagazine.com) — Auto thefts are surging in Montgomery County, with the Sixth District—which includes parts of North Potomac—recording hundreds of cases this year and contributing to a nearly 17% countywide jump. Police say Hyundais and Kias are prime targets, juveniles are heavily involved, and even license plate reader cameras have been vandalized, while officers urge residents to use steering wheel locks, GPS trackers, and basic security steps.
