One residential burglary was reported in the North Potomac area between May 23 and June 1. Montgomery County police released this information in the weekly recent crime summary on Thursday. Between 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 29 and 2 a.m. on Monday, May 3 a house was broken into in the 12700 block of High Meadow Drive in North Potomac. Something was stolen from the house. Police did not provide any further information.

Memorial Day Weekend Event - Flags For Our Heroes 

A Giant Display of 756 American flags from Friday, May 22nd through Monday morning, May 25th
Formal inauguration May 23rd at 11:00 a.m., then a ceremony at the Peace Pole in the park. Unusable flag retirement ceremony conducted by local Scout troops on May 24th at dusk.
Free and open to the public, 24 hours a day (lighted at night). Accessible by wheelchair. 
Anyone can sponsor a flag to honor his or her “hero,” for $50. There are also sponsorship packages for businesses and organizations. Proceeds will be used by the Gaithersburg Rotary Foundation for local and international projects.
