Annapolis Area Christian School Welcomes New Upper School Principal Robert J. McCollum

Meet the new Upper School Principal at Annapolis Area Christian School - Robert J. McCollum.

"Bob is a highly sought-after Christian leader, who chose AACS from among many offers,” said AACS Superintendent Rick Kempton. “After an extensive interview process, Bob was our unanimous choice. His experience in the international, public, and private arenas fits hand-in-hand with our focus on equipping kids to meet the challenges of living and working in the 21st century. Bob brings a tremendous balance of professional preparation and a Christ-centered approach to his life and work.”

“As a principal and a father, my desire has been to find a school community where God’s name is lifted high and servant leaders are developed,” said McCollum. “I am dedicated to the passionate pursuit of excellence in every aspect of school life, and look forward to working with a team of innovators who feel the same way.” He, his wife and two daughters will be moving here from Bogotá, Colombia, this summer.

For the past five years McCollum and his wife have been serving as missionaries at El Camino Academy in Bogotá, Colombia. This is an international K-12 ACSI accredited Christian school where he has served as the Secondary Principal and the Director of Academics. McCollum also has 12 years of administrative experience in large public high schools in suburban Chicago, including as an associate principal for curriculum and instruction. He began his career teaching math and science at the high school level. McCollum has a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and is working on a Doctor of Education in Curricular and Instructional Leadership through Columbia International University in South Carolina.
