Attempted Odenton Robbery Thwarted By Worker Who Realized Suspect Had Fake Gun: Police
A liquor store worker prevented a robbery after realizing the suspect's gun was fake, police said.

ODENTON, MD — Police announced that an Odenton liquor store worker stopped an attempted robbery Thursday after realizing the suspect had a fake gun.
The employee then held the accused man until officers arrived. Authorities said they arrested the suspect and identified him as 41-year-old Kelvin Lamont Jones of Odenton.
Police said they responded to a hold-up robbery alarm at Fort Liquor, located at 1628 Annapolis Road, at 11:15 p.m.

The suspect entered the store with what appeared to be a gun and started removing items from the shelves, officers said. Authorities accused Jones of walking behind the counter, pushing the worker and bagging the items. The Anne Arundel County Police Department arrived soon after the employee intervened.
